Kingfisher Airlines Q3 loss widens to Rs 444 Crore

The net loss of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd for the December quarter widened as it flew less planes during peak season and hit by high jet fuel cost and steep depreciation of Indian rupee.

The Company has posted a net loss of Rs 444.26 Crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011 as compared to net loss of Rs 253 Crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010.

Operating revenues has decreased from Rs 1659 Crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010 to Rs 1342 Crore for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011, registering decrease of 19.11%.

The sales of the airline declined by 15.22% for the reporting quarter to Rs1342.32 crore against Rs1583.43 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2010.

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.45, or 1.68%, to trade at Rs 27.20. The total volume of shares traded was 1,139,146  at the BSE.
