
Country’s car sales has witnessed a positive growth for the third consecutive month on the back of increasing demand for the vehicles in the domestic market. In January, car sales were increased by 7.2% to 196,013 units as per the data recorded with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Trucks and buses Sales soared 13.5% to 69,859 vehicles in January from a year previous year. SIAM expressed concerns over the slow demand for car in the domestic market and said, India’s auto industry may miss a car sales growth expectation of 0-2% in the current fiscal year.
Car makers had suffered a lost after July of 2011 as persistent increase in interest rates and fuel costs had stepped away customers to book more orders, which in turn forced manufacturers to reduce production.
