Weekly Review – Week ended 18 May 2012
Market continued its negative trend for the fourth consecutive week as nervousness gripped markets across the globe after Greece failed to form a government, setting the stage for a June election that could raise the risk of Athens abandoning the euro and deepening the euro zone's debt crisis. Sensex declined 0.86% to 16152.75 and Nifty fell 0.75% to 4891.45 in the week ended 18 May 2012. Shares of Bhel, GAIL, Hindalco and NTPC hit 52-week lows during the week.
